Matt Johnson will be starting his 3rd full season on tour as a part of Team USA. He has 2 podium finishes so far in his career, taking 1st place in Bathurst, CA and 3rd place in Rautalampi, FIN. He is also known for his speedy gate starts and strength on and off the ice. Before Red Bull Crashed Ice Matt was a hockey player from the age of four, Bartended at Target Field (the home of the Minnesota Twins), loved going to the gym and a pretty solid dancer. In his spare time Matt loves to spend time with his newly married wife, friends, and family. He also is always down to play sports or do any activities that involve going fast! He was hooked on Ice Cross Downhill as soon as he laid eyes on it and made it his mission to make the tour. In his rookie season he climbed the ranks and finished a solid 19th overall in the world championship. In the next season he was looking like a top ten rider for sure until a broken ankle sidelined his efforts in the last few races. He had to settle with a 16th place finish. This speed demon looks to have another great season in 2017 and finish within the top ten riders in the world.
