Matt Johnson will be hoping to put the last couple of injury-plagued seasons behind him in 2017/18. Over the summer he doubled his park time to hopefully have an injury free season this time around, and is super pumped to make the other riders "look like they are going half speed."
Matt is known for his speedy gate starts and strength on and off the ice. Before Red Bull Crashed Ice Matt was a hockey player from the age of four, Bartended at Target Field (the home of the Minnesota Twins), loved going to the gym and a pretty solid dancer. In his spare time Matt loves to spend time with his newly married wife, friends, and family. He also is always down to play sports or do any activities that involve going fast! He was hooked on Ice Cross Downhill as soon as he laid eyes on it and made it his mission to make the tour. In his rookie season he climbed the ranks and finished a solid 19th overall in the world championship. In the next season he was looking like a top ten rider for sure until a broken ankle sidelined his efforts in the last few races. He had to settle with a 16th place finish.
